Fortnum & Mason

A.J Wells were involved in Fortnum & Mason’s new shop and tea salon at St Pancras International Station, London.

Situated in the Eurostar Terminal the two hundred square metre store stocks Fortnum’s world renowned teas, preserves and hampers in addition to housing a forty cover restaurant serving breakfasts, light-lunches and afternoon tea.

A.J Wells produced vitreous enamel shop fixture frontage colour matched in Fortnum’s classic pale green. Complementing the trademark red carpets and wooden panelling the enamel fronts were teamed with marble counter tops.

Ewan Venters, Fortnum & Mason’s chief executive, said: “The centre of gravity really in London is shifting more north and east. St Pancras is an emerging area, it’s really starting to blossom now. My job is to contemporise Fortnum & Mason for a new generation and specifically tea. One way that we’re doing that is through the Fortnum & Mason at St Pancras, which is bringing it to a wider audience.”
